SCARY STORIES

i read the book scary stories. It was pretty scary actually. There is one story about a girl who has a dream where shes sleepin in a house and a scary pale-faced, black-eyed, long-haired woman comes in her room. She moves a little later and the room looks the same. The land lady says she will get tea and be right back. A moment later there is a knock on the door. she thinks its the land-lady but it is the scary pale chick.

The book

The book was overall very intense and realistic. However it semmed as if the same thing was happeneing over and over again.There always walkin through the country starving And they get shot at by the government. It was annoying. However the things it did repeat where very interesting and you can somewhat feel the boys pain.

When they reach the town with an easy but long walk they search and search for there parents but can't find them. They move through crowds of people till finally they are stopped by Benjamin who told them his parents are dead. But he does not know about Benson and Alepho's parent's. Finally Alepho and Benson see there parents with Anerican journalists

In the book Benson goes to a town and finally fills his hunger. After he fills his hunger he sees Alepho who has also eaten. They continue walking to another town in Ethiopia where there parents might be.

tree energy

A team of MIT researchers use platinum electrodes and ficus plant. They discovered feasible electric currents from the trees. They state the pH difference between the soil and the tree is the cause of the electric currents. Scientists are currently debating if the energy can be used for human benefits.

In the next part of the book Benson is traveling and finds a rebel controlled town. He looks for a man and asks if he know where Yier, his brother is. The rebel points to a man and claims that is him. He goes up and follows him. Then Yier turned around and asked why he following him. And Benson told him that he is his brother.

In the next part of the book, Benson is trying to reach a refugee camp near Uganda. However, he feels he is going to drop and die. He is almost there and begins to fall until his brother assists him and takes him to the camp safely.

In the next part of the book Benson finally arrives to Ethiopia with the other kids and the rebels. However, it was not what he expected. There was garbage and dirty people everywhere. He saw a kid get shot when trying to steal food. And there were crowds filled with poor people or beggers. He wanted to return to Sudan to see his Mother and Father.

In the next part of the book Benjamin is traveling on top of a water tanker with other kids and some rebels. At one point they stop to pick up more children and Benjamin realizes how sad the children look. They also stop in the middle of the night to find skelatons all over the ground.

In the next part of the book, Benson's village gets attacked once again. This time however, he leaves everything and runs far away from the village. He hikes through a field of tall grass until he falls asleep. He wakes up to a the voice of a man shouting, "Who are You!". He hates hearing that voice. Fearfully, he gets up to see who the people are. It's a man and his young nephew. The man claims to know the boy's father and offers the boy to go with them to find safety. On the way they run into more and more villagers who join them as well. They go to a rebels camp were they are told to make haste towards the country of Ethiopia. They also give the Convoy a cow to eat on the way their.

In the next part of the book, Alepho explains how he likes to pretend to be a rebel. He'll put a stick under is shoulder and pretend its a gun. However, when he does it at one point, his mother pulls him away and tells him why its dangerous. She says its dangerous because all the chaos in their country. She also tells him if he ever hears a loud popping noise to run as fast as he can from the village. That night, Alepho is woken up by his mother and she tells him to leave the village until morning. They watch from a hill as their village burns and they hear gunshots. In the morning they return. They're parents are okay but Alepho wants to see if his friend is okay. He sees her house destroyed. and he goes inside and finds burned bodies of his friend and her family.

In the Chapter, The Lionesses revenge, Benson and his Dad are walking through the yard when Benson sees gleaming eye in the bushes. His father tells him it is a lion and that is why his father holds him close whenever they walk through the yard. He gets nightmares that night thinking about all the creatures that live right outside his house that would kill him.
A few days later he is told by his father that the war in the North is moving down to the location of their villages. He and his four year old brother get very scared even when they are confused about what will happen. He couldn't even believe that his father would say such things to young children.

In chapters 1-6 of Breaking Through by Fransisco Jimenez, Fransisco is 4 when his family takes across the border with them illegaly. He lives in the U.S til 8th grade before he and his family get caught. However because he and his older brother were born in the U.S, they can return to the U.S. However they must live with eachother alone. Fransisco also gets to return to his school. He struggles but manages to gradudate junior high.
